Building the Old Hillsboro Shop
Harkening back to a time where construction was painstakingly deliberate, each joint taking hours or even days to cut, the Old Hillsboro Shop transports the laborer to a time when one's trade defined his entire being. The poplar timbers for this shop were cut from trees felled on the same property.
This building is still under construction; check back periodically to see the progress or follow along on YouTube!
This rustic style frame is built from 5500 board feet of tulip poplar, locally sourced less than 1/4 mile from the shop's location.
It's footprint is 26'x30', and contains a small 14'x16' loft.
Check back later for more pictures of our work as we finish the roof system and close in the shop.
